Joovy BabaSling Lite – Product Review

By on January 16, 2013

Just recently I was given the Joovy BabaSling Lite to use for my 2 month old. I didn’t know much about baby slings; at the time I was using a front carrier to tote my little one around (ergobaby). As soon as I put the sling on, I LOVED it! I put my 2 month old in in right away using the breastfeeding position. It was more than comfortable and most importantly, it’s completely hands free! I felt that my baby’s entire body was supported. With my baby being so young, I felt that it was so important to have a sling/carrier that is safe and comfortable baby’s tiny frame. He loves it too! He usually falls asleep within a few minutes!

The best thing about this baby sling is that there are so many different positions – five different carrying  positions and two breastfeeding positions. And they’re all very easy to use with any age of baby. I usually use my sling around the house when I can’t carry my baby with both hands. It’s great to have baby right by me while I’m doing chores or making dinner. If you plan to breastfeed out in public, the sling provides two unique, discrete wearing positions; there is a shield like piece of fabric that comes up over the baby’s head…It’s awesome! Unlike some of the other carriers on the market, this one is very lightweight and compact. It came in a small pull-string bag (approx. 5″ x 8″) for easy storing. Also, to top it off, Joovy offers a variety of awesome colors to choose from – mine is turquoise. They also offer one in organic cotton if you prefer that.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my Joovy sling! I love having my baby right with me. When I received this as a gift I did some research on it and found in one study that babies who are carried cry (on average) 43% less overall and 54% less during the evening hours.*
